Backcountry Access Dozer 2H Shovel
Dozer 2H Shovel
BCA calls the Dozer 2H the "grandaddy" of their shovel line. Like other BCA shovels, the 2H features an ovo-concave shaft and a low-profile, stompable blade. With a flat "stomp edge" on the blade, you can penetrate just about anything by adding body weight. In addition, the 2H features a hoe mode to provide added efficiency when "paddling" chunks of debris without lifting.
Auto-engaging spring pins at the blade/shaft connection make for faster, hands-free assembly/deployment, saving valuable time when it counts the most. The 2H also lies flat in your pack with no protruding ferrule or "neck," leaving more room for other backcountry gear. Like all BCA extendable shovels, the 2H is designed to meet the UIAA standard for avalanche rescue shovels.
