Mad Rock Phoenix Climbing Shoe
Phoenix Climbing Shoe
Although the Phoenix is one of the core shoes that launched Mad Rock way back in 2002, its come a long, long ways. Not only is the retro coloring scheme super cool and a light-year leap over the old gray clog-look, these shoes perform way beyond a standard "entry level" shoe. The Phoenix's do indeed work well for beginning climbers based on their almost unbelievable price point, but they'll also work for experienced climbers who want a comfortable all day shoe that won't skimp on performance.
Mad Rock has evolved the Phoenix for a slightly downturned toe and slightly asymmetrical profile, ensuring this shoe can edge on micro-edges in vertical terrain. The 1.8mm midsole offers a slightly stiffer feel for more support during long days or for climbers just building the muscles in their feet. More than anything else, Mad Rock's rubber has evolved to be on par with most other proprietary brands. The Phoenix's Science Friction 3.0 rubber is sticky and durable, a serious upgrade from models past.
